The beach is quiet, eerily so. All animals, all insect noise, all gusts of wind have come to a complete stop this morning. The only sound is that of the ocean, but even that seems muted. Everything is hushed and as the doors of the huts opens, the only sensation that rings utterly true today is this: One of your own is gone. And now, as the rules state, it is your job to discover their fate. Welcome to the investigation post! If your character decides to search an area, please post the name of the location in your header and wait for the mod replies. Anything to discover or not to will be indicated during the course of the thread. After the body is discovered, an announcement will be made and characters are free to spend the rest of the afternoons how they like. [ Well, right off the bat, can't hide this from you guys -- near the center of the flower field is a figure. It looks almost human shaped.

Approach? ]

It'd be nice to catch a break, wouldn't it? [--GODDAMNIT, SPOKE TOO SOON. He's pausing but. Okay. It's maybe not a body? That's probably too easy? But he's going to start approaching, gesturing for the others to stick close.]

Check it out. [Anything else weird about the area...?]

[ she will approach cautiously for the figure, keeping a wary eye out for traps. if it is a human body, though, KYOUKO IS GONNA FRISK IT FOR CLUES like she canonically does whenever she is faced with a dead body. ]

Ugh.

[ while hiro and kyouko head straight for the figure, neku chooses to check the rest of the surrounding area, just in case... ]

[ the figure is just sitting in the flowers, back towards them. they can tell that the back is towards them by the sight of the bright yellow sundress it's wearing and the mess of blue hair.

go... around the figure, maybe? ]

[...yeah. You know what. He'll just walk around to the front to go check it out. What is this...who are you...what are you.]

Annnybody else find this a little suspicious?

...Be careful. It may be a trap.

[ SINCE THE FIGURE IS NOT TALKING TO THEM...she'll circle around with hiro, taking care to watch her step and go slow. ]

[ looks like nothing over here then?? he may as well wander over to the others... ]

Come on, I found the body last week, give me a break...

[ he intentionally hangs back after hearing kyouko, in case hiro needs saving or...something. ]

[ Okay, getting closer they'll see that the entire front of the sundress is covered in blood.

They'll also see that the figure is not a human but a few branches tied together to look human.

Then on the head of the branch figure, is a volleyball with, uh. It's got a face, sure.

And it's wearing a blue wig!

Oh, and in it's "hand" (just two sticks bent in a V) it's holding a drink! A mai tai to be exact! But upon closer inspection of that very frosty, very good looking drink, there seems to be an eyeball dropped inside of it.

More like meye-tai, am I right. Or mai-teye. Both work. ]

[So....he's going to first of all yell a little because jesus what the hell. He's staring the face in...the...face...for a bit before he very carefully reaches for the drink and immediately practically teleport like 5 feet away.

Ohgodohgodohgodohgod this is the shittiest horoscope come true ever.

He's going to hold the glass and try...to see the color of the eye? Or if there's any damage to it? Is this real? Is this a hallucination?]

Can we maybe...kick it...somewhere else? [Even as he continues to stare at it.] We should grab the wig and dress though. [But he's holding his mai-teye for examination anyway.]

hiro give the damn glass here, she will pull out the eyeball herself if he does not. ]

We may as well also take the volleyball.

[ she doesn't seem bothered by it. ]

[ on the one hand, ew? on the other, it's not...an actual dead. is this good or bad. ]

If there's any way to solidify my reputation as "the guy who kicks stuff," I may as well handle the volleyball. Someonell get pissed if we lose it.

[ he's already going over, getting ready to soccer dribble it back to the chiefs... ]

We should also figure out what we can about this stuff now, because I doubt they'll let us tomorrow. I don't want to get yelled at for not looking at stuff closely again.

[ you've got pretty much everything here, good job!

the eye is definitely purple or violet, i guess. depending on the way the sun looks at it.

[....he's examining the eye and pretty much most of the color drains from his face. He's dodging out of Kyouko's grip because he's holding onto that eye, thank you. That's...]

...Lelouch. [His voice didn't crack, your voice cracked. It makes sense, given he saw Yona this morning, Kyouko's right there and the eye's pretty distinctive. But he's holding onto the glass and he's nodding anyway.] Just roll the ball on its face, I guess. And yeah, let's...check out the dress and the wig. Kyouko, can you tell what size the dress is by sight?

Yes. [ will he at least hold the glass so she can peer at it for a second...she won't try to take it again but she likes to Confirm things with her own eyes.

after trying to get a good look, though, she will go to examine the dress more closely. ]

...What does anyone gain by this display?

Why we have to play this whacked out scavenger hunt for body parts in the first place is a crappy thing on its own. I hate whoever's playing with us like this even more now.

You and me both. [There's a shake of his head. He's also going to sniff the liquid the eyeball's in to see if he can get anything from it, but it's an afterthought.]
