The beach is quiet, eerily so. All animals, all insect noise, all gusts of wind have come to a complete stop this morning. The only sound is that of the ocean, but even that seems muted. Everything is hushed and as the doors of the huts opens, the only sensation that rings utterly true today is this: One of your own is gone. And now, as the rules state, it is your job to discover their fate. Welcome to the investigation post! If your character decides to search an area, please post the name of the location in your header and wait for the mod replies. Anything to discover or not to will be indicated during the course of the thread. After the body is discovered, an announcement will be made and characters are free to spend the rest of the afternoons how they like. [raven ends up here as well, with a concerned look on her face. she raises a hand to get their attention, but she's already glancing around the area for anything obviously amiss.]

[ Are they near any lava!!

Get near some lava and maybe you'll find something, nerds!! ]

Stay back and be careful.

[shakes his head at Shinjiro and GOES TOWARDS THE LAVA!!! thankfully, lava isn't hot or anything]

Not yet. But we all need to be alert.

[ thanks, sifu hotman, for guiding them to the hot places. truly an apt nickname.

but he does as he's told, peering around for signs of anything suspicious (TM) ]

[When Zuko tells her to stay back and be careful, she frowns at him before making it a point to walk side by side with him rather than behind as he walks towards the lava. #stubborn]

[ so, being around the volcano, there's definitely a few... let's say lava pools hanging about it? and if there wasn't any before there is now and i'm retconing it because it makes no sense that there aren't any smaller lava pools around the freggin volcano. that's just like, volcano 101.

anyway.

the point is when they approach one of those lava pools that were definitely always there, they're going to see one with a figure sticking out of the mouth of the pool. ]

[Raven why are you like this. He sighs in exasperation but keeps going]

[Can Zuko fish out the figure or is too risky]

[ ugh of course. ]

Don't suppose anyone brought a stick, did they?

[ can they really afford any more injuries after yesterday, dubious. ]

[She leans over slightly to try and see who it is, but she's also looking for a safe way to pull the body out, too.

[ Well, first thing first -- it's a body. It's a corpse, completely headless as per usual but it's burned all over too.

It's a bit different in how it's burned than Joshua's though, but either way, all of it is a crisp and it's probably pretty hot to touch but... I don't know, rp physics will make it hot but not too hot that they can pull it out of the pool. Kind of like pulling meat out of the oven? ]

[Gross. Zuko makes a face, but ignores the burns and does his best to drag it out without oven mitts]

It's hot. [INCREDIBLE, ZUKO] If you two can bear it, help me move this thing.

[he's pretty strong so he can do it on his own but it's super nasty and inconvenient]

[ lord. is there even anything recognisable about the body? unlike zuko, shinji takes off his shirt first and wraps it around his hands for some protection before helping zuko. ]

[at the same moment as shinjiro, raven... also starts to take her shirt off so she can do the same. unless someone stops her (please stop her).]

[ the only real thing recognizable about it is that it's fairly tall and lanky. otherwise, i thiiink, maybe. yeah. it's male too? you should probably be able to tell that.

otherwise that is it for y'all. you got your body. ]

[IMMEDIATELY BARKS AT RAVEN, turning red and staring at the corpse--

actually no let's stare at Shinji instead]

Who is this!?

[to clarify he's talking about the corpse, he knows who Shinji is okay]

[ please don't let him interrupt this hot steamy moment between zuko and raven. though he does also look away when raven starts taking off her shirt. ]

Why would I know! You can't tell anything from this,'cept that it's probably a guy.
