The beach is quiet, eerily so. All animals, all insect noise, all gusts of wind have come to a complete stop this morning. The only sound is that of the ocean, but even that seems muted. Everything is hushed and as the doors of the huts opens, the only sensation that rings utterly true today is this: One of your own is gone. And now, as the rules state, it is your job to discover their fate. Welcome to the investigation post! If your character decides to search an area, please post the name of the location in your header and wait for the mod replies. Anything to discover or not to will be indicated during the course of the thread. After the body is discovered, an announcement will be made and characters are free to spend the rest of the afternoons how they like. [ jaffar is not super excited about looking for bodies, but he is... around the huts, by force of necessity, and he's definitely keeping an eye out for anything out-of-place. ]

[ WELL HERE'S THE THING, KEITH.

Here's the thing, Keith.

The entrance to Keith and Mello's hut is already going to be open and hanging off the edge of the door will be Mello's rosary. Just, y'know, putting that out there. ]

... Did you leave that open...?

[ yeah he knows the answer to this already. ]

[yeah, no. this is fine. his face right now is enough of an answer??]

[Not that Lief really knows the guy, but.

Guess they might as well invade Keith's hut to check it out??]

[ okay, aside from that keith's hut just kind of smells like boy? it's not great. or clean. you might as well leave.

but there is another hut they should check out. weirdly enough when they step back outside of the hut, hayner and lelouch's hut will suddenly be open too. ]

[ ugh, what a waste of time!! Jaffar follows the two of them over to Keith's hut out of sheer curiosity, expecting the worst - but nothing is there. Which is a relief, at least until the other hut opens. ]

[ without saying anything, Jaffar heads over to that one, too. ]

[tmw you nearly have a heart attack because what if you missed a corpse in your hut

But, no. His hut is the same as always. Smelly as fuck and corpseless. The... same might not be the case for Lelouch and Hayner's hut, and he trails after Jaffar. If Mello's (alive or not) out there— someone else will find him. That he's pretty sure of.]

Was— Was that open before?

["SUDDENLY." This bodes well.]

[ okay, i'm not on the up and up on the decor of casa de squeenix and clamp but!

on the wall!

there is something interesting. a knife, covered in blood is jammed into the wall but that's not the weird part. the weird part is that the knife is stabbed straight through a gun with the kind of force you wouldn't expect a knife like that to have -- it's a simple filleting knife, really.

but the knife is stabbed through the gun, covered in blood, and embedded in the wall. that's fun. ]

[ judging your weird stinky house, keith.

Jaffar is unfazed by the blood and the knife, as usual. He steps inside and allows the other two boys to come in with him, but he stands back from the actual scene, wary of danger still possibly lurking about.

Also, he doesn't know what a gun is. ]

... What is that?

[That. Sure is blood. And that sure is a knife stabbed through a gun. If Jaffar isn't going to step forward, then Keith is, cautious to make sure there's nothing odd on the floor or in the corners of the room.]

Weapons. [... That doesn't help much. Sorry, Jaffar.

Assuming he can get close enough, he's going to try pulling the knife out. Though, uh, he only has one arm??] How did they stab the knife through a gun?

[Lief knows what guns are only because of Serph and Akira tbh. Also, while he peers at the knife with Keith, he can't help him because he also only has one functional arm?? Why didn't they just let Jaffar do this.]

Indeed, it does not seem to be a particularly strong knife...

[ Thanks for the helpful answer, buddy!! Jaffar stares at him flatly, watching him struggle with the knife, before walking up to him and clapping a hand on his shoulder to try and move him aside. ]

[ Jaffar has two hands, and is very strong!! He pulls on the dagger with all his strength to try and get a better look at it (and the gun.) ]

[ honestly, once jaffar starts tugging, it all sort of comes apart -- knife falls out of the wall, gun falls out of the knife. it seems it was pretty precariously staged! also since 2/3 people can't tell what a gun is, and keith is a sci-fi cartoon loser, no one gets to know what type of gun it is. thank god. i don't want to look that up.

but otherwise -- that's it in terms of finding anything. you're good, fam. ]
